Hello guys, please feel free to post your guesses for the top 3 winners in all categories for SDBF 2010.
It may be a little early, but i am sure teams have seen each other training during sea rowing sessions etc.
i will be particularly interested in PM cup predictions, IVP mens and National Championship Mens open 20 crew.
cheers :D

PM Cup Men  NTU  by 2-3 seat infront of SMU, which will be a good 1/2 boat length of NUS. SIM might be 2 boat length. Woman,  NUS will lead from start to the end winning by 1-2 seat. NTU 2nd.  SIM might be 3 boat away

IVP, between RP & NYP.

Men Open, watch out for SAFSA, PLK and Mountbatten.

NUS boys to come in tops this PM Cup. been seeing them train really hard at kallang and macritchie. mad crazy bunch of guys. its going to be a NTU - NUS showdown once again for me. Not sure about the other 2 tertiaries though.

NUS girls even crazier to steal the PM Cup this year with a breeze. SIM might be in contention too with numerous Nteam additions on the team.

tough month of preparation ahead for the coveted CUP!

NUS??  haha... it is not about how hard you train.    Train smart.
I saw them quite a few times, their boat doesnt move fast compare to RP or NYP.

I think SP will win.
N team coach by Poh Soon. 1.57.
SMU coach by Poh Soon. 1.58
ACS coach by Poh Soon. 1.59

I think SP is around the same standard as his other teams. SP trains twice a day. all the poly only train 4-5 times a week.
Also SP has been training seriously and not wasting time in small races.

SMU at PA Paddles already beat RP even with 2 month training.
I think SP is the team to watch. This year SDBF is long D. SP's long distance work will definitely make them very fast.

Polite also i think RP cannot keep. SP will win this year. NYP and RP can fight for 2nd.

se7en : Standard SDBF Race distance is 800m. PM cup / pol-ite will race 1 km.

Opens: SAFSA, PLK and Mountbatten?
Why not the tertiary since they are training more frequent than these teams?

My Guess on:
20 Men (Open) - NTU (PM Cup Champ), SIM, SAFSA (SDBF'09 Champ)
10 Men (Open) - Mountbatten CSC (SDBF'09 Champ), Tamah Jurong CSC (Gallop Champ), SAFSA
20 Mixed (Open) - Mountbatten, Aust Champ, NTU
20 Men (Tertiary) - NTU, SP, SMU
20 Women (Tertairy) - NUS, NTU, RP
 ;)

PLK is particularly strong if you look at the recent performance, just a whisker away from Mtbatten in fact.
I think we are also missing out SPC. They are also a strong opponent for the Opens category. Not forgetting the tertiary teams, however I would say Opens wouldnt be their priority as the Unis will be concentrating on PM cup and the polys, ites will be concentrating on their POL-ITE. Therefore, they may compete in the Opens but they might not be putting down their main team for the Opens and if they ever enter grand finals, just like NTU last year, they pulled out of the event and rest their rowers for the PM Cup.

haha, hut hut hut - SP paddler? or their fan?

SP has always been training long d, but did they perform last year (particularly in SDBF and Regatta)? They really have not been performing for a VERY long time. I'm not dissing them or saying they are not contenders, but i dont think what you said can be justified. just my 2 cents worth.

anyway for all's info, there is no tertiary category this sdbf, only Opens, PM cup (4 unis), and POL-ITE (5 polys and ITE).

all the races are 800m, only for PM cup which is 1000m.
