awesome weekend everyone!

Just wondering, there were much buzz abt the floating starts.. liddat the timing zun or not ah? what do u guys think leh?

SAVA was forced to use the free-floating starts.  Either that or cancel the event.

Obviously the starts really sucked.  I am sure we did a 505m race once, and a 495m another time.  But the teams with fast times were getting them consistently, not just once, so I don't think it affected things too much.

SDBF will have the floating docks back though, so that's good.

I think the best situation will be to have the white buoys for the drummer to hold on to, like how it was for SAVA sprints 2009. With the floating docks, the steersmen can't make any adjustments on their own and will need to rely on the front rowers to perform draw strokes, which I think might undermine the performance of the rowers, since it can be quite tiring.

NTU has really lived up to expectations. By clinching the gold medal in the tertiary and mixed open, and silver in the mens open, I will be expecting them to perform even better in SDBF.

This year's PM cup is going to be very interesting.
