SDBA Selection is the National Team. My frens in the team told me that they're using the MR500 to test their new paddling style in a bonafide racing environment.

And so for all those teams that will face them, take pride that you are actually helping our National Team in their development. Should they go on to win at the International level, we all can proudly say that we had a hand in their development. The National Team belongs to the nation and not just on a mere allegiance to a particular club. For once, here is a team that all of us can put a stake in.

Lets see how good they are.

either way, its gonna be interesting this MR500. Although it is not the main race that most teams are aiming for however, it is a starting point for the season after all. A good starting point and result is always sought after for morale boost not only individually but as a team.

Cheers :)

Now we have 2 real team that is fix to be call as our National team.

The Men & Woman N-teams have undergone a huge overhual !!

Lets see if tomorrow the Men will clock a 1.52min timing!!

Woman, lets aim for a 2.06min!!  NUS was the real powerhouse untill today!!!

Like it or not, this time round, got to respect the N, they deserve my respect.
but my 5 cent of advice, be humble. do not start to behave as if your nose is on the same level as your eye.

SDBA sa , sa sa sa!!!

train hard, proud the nation proud!!!!

Today's races were amazing to watch in all sense of the word.. The women's 10 crew tertiary finals was a truely amazing race to watch. The NUS girls totally obliterated the rest of the competition with more than 2 boats length.. The rest of the field have alot to catch up on if they are to get even a sniff of their tail in SBDF for sure. The performance of the NUS girls were simply breathtaking.

NYP girls were a pleasant surprise to come in 2nd behind NUS with NTU trailing in 3rd. Pressure is on for them to prove their mettle to defend the women's PM cup in the coming SDBF. It almost looks like the title may already be in the hands of the NUS girls.

The Tertiary men's finals was a nail biting affair. NTU almost losing the lead they garnered for their starts to NUS when they started inching forward in the middle of the race. But NTU remain composed to defend the IVP title of MR500 Tertiary champions. RP did amazingly well to clinch second spot followed by NUS just a seat behind. NUS is definitely coming back strong from their lacklustre performance in the SAVA sprints to stay close to their arch rivals. This was definitely the race of the day noting that all the top 3 teams hit breakthrough timings of 2:00 min and below. It is definitely a good sign for dragonboating in future.

I'm looking forward to having the Nteam clock a 1:52min. They definitely deserve my respect for their perseverance and achievements so far:) Good luck to all the competitors for tomorrow's races!!

Wow! N-Team Men clocked a 1.55.44!
Then N-Team Women clocked a 2.07.something in a Men Race!!
Looking at the other team timings, IMHO nothing can catch them...although we still have races on Sunday
Finally our N-Team is looking like a N-side
Wish them the best of luck at the Asian Championships.

As for the rest of the field, the NTU new people are looking pretty good
3 more months to go before SDBF, it will be interesting to see whether can they sustain their development
They have huge shoes to fill.....

I think we must take into consideration that the boats used are champion boats, a different and faster type compared to the seagull ones. that why the timings are really horrifying. haha. but then, we still can make interpretations from the results. it is very obvious that NYP and RP are the only polytechnics biting onto the king NTU from this race. We havent seen SMU due to them being organisers and NP as usual missing from MR500. these are blackhorses to watch out for in polite and june race. RP seems to be coming back strong with their charging seemingly like the one in 2008. NTU seem to improve as well keeping up the strong position in the dragonboat community, setting the standard. NUS is making a comeback clocking timings close to NTU. and last but not least, the national team men and women. They improved a lot with their new rowing style and are clocking timings never seen before in singapore. respect to them.
