check out what you wear, it might be causing it.

Try wearing tights instead. I don't personally wear them since I don't really get much abrasion, but I heard from friends that it helps. But of course, don't wear briefs under the tights, since that will rub against your skin as well.

Everyone would occasionally get some abrasion or other from paddling. Its a common paddling "injury" i suppose. Well Rudderout, you sound like you don't paddle alot. You must be a coxwain or sth.. Cheers:)

Yeah I would agree that it's quite common to get abrasion, but to the extent that it's bleeding is quite an extreme case.

Either case, Cantonese, you should let it heal before you paddle again. Letting the wound touch water will worsen it, especially if the place you paddle at doesn't have very clean water.

And who knows? I might be a drummer after all. Every single person on the boat plays an important role.  ;)

Thanks Rudder Out for the suggestions.... Might consider getting a week break for the wound to heal up (though rowing addiction is hard to overcome)...

Try compression/tight shorts that cover from ur butt til ur thigh. It helps.

One eg. I saw b4 is paddion from facebook: http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/PADDION/350328066766?ref=ts

Can also try other brands like Nike, Adidas or etc. from sports shops.
