Hi people, I was in the sea sports club during my JC days but I stopped doing any after that. So now I wanna do so again, thus I wanna join a club that does recreational sea sports &I am especially interested to row a K1/2 again. Hope to hear from you peeps! :) thank you!

Hi Leila  :)

I'm also looking around for kayaking kakis too! To kayak say, once a week or once a fortnight kinda thing. But I don't think there are any recreational kayaking clubs around - at least not to my knowledge. Recreational dragonboating clubs yes, but not kayaking. So hard to find kayaking kakis in Sg! Let me know if you feel like kayaking one of these days!

Oh, btw, I've only 1-star which I've gotten a few years ago... have been kayaking not very frequently since then. Am thinking of going for 2-star, but scared my skills are rusty liao and may not pass 2-star!  :P

Hi Leila,

U may consider 2 join Mountbatten CSC, they train canoeing with T1, T2, K1 & K2 at MacRitchie Reservoir when not doing dragonboat training.

If you are keen, pls indicate & I will let u noe who to contact.

Regards,
JSK

JSK maybe you got it wrong here. Recreational and expedition kayaking, not competitive.

Anyway its been awhile since anyone post about recreational kayaking. I am hoping to do 2 star soon also. When we have the critical mass of people interested, maybe we can organise an expedition out to sea...:)
It is all just in the mind.

Guys.  No rec kayaking club? Make your own!!! You can always try to coordinate through the forum and take it higher.  Once there is a critical mass, please move on.  All you need is someone to take the lead.  I very much wish to but real live challenges prevent me from doing so, at this stage.  So all you need is a core mass of people really enthusiastic.  I can even create a special board just for rec kayakers to form up and coordinate.

Singapore Paddle Club would love to take on the recreational kayakers. We have our racks down on Sentosa and we're frequently out round the southern islands....or just along to Siloso Beach for some beers at sunset if the ferries and ripping current around Sisters are a bit daunting.

We have some of top surf ski paddlers (just back from Molokai) in the world in SPC who I'm sure would be willing to part some knowledge. Plus we have a variety of club boats that are there to be taken.

Let me know if you're interested and we can discuss.
