Singapore Dragon Boat Festival 07
« on: May 08, 2007, 01:42 »
Seeing that no one has started this thread yet, here goes.  ;)

Heard that it is going to be held in Bedok Reservoir this year instead. 800 metres of dead water eh? Any comments?
Where can I paddle? I just got out of Vault 13!

i would 100% suppose they are using the SDBA boats as with the years before. those big heavy things would pose quite an exciting experience for 800m!

I was thinking. Wouldn't it be more fun if they top up 200m more and make it 1000m? As for the PM cup, maybe make it 2000m? Not sure if Bedok reservoir is big enough for that but it sure sounds fun.

And btw, is it open to international teams or just local teams?

Dude, the longest race course Bedok Reservoir can take is only 1000m. If u want any further, u must race around the reservoir already.

Wasn't last year's June Race at Bedok Reservoir already?

Note the 800m paddle from launching point to the start line.
It is all just in the mind.

I dont know but I just got cut last weekend during training because the gunwale of the SDBA boat has cracked and has sharp edges. Why dont they just change them? Are they really promoting the sport by renting out lousy boats. I am really disappointed after all these years....sigh  >:(

Well there's only 1 solution: Fork out money for your own boat. The measely amount we pay for each session isn't going to be enough to buy new boats.
